Biography

Agnieszka Sural – almost art historian by education, art worker by profession. author of MA Thesis on the life and work of Zbigniew Libera in preparation. Organiser of artistic projects, young curator of exhibitions, e.g. Undiscovered/Unspoken at the Nowy Theatre. Co-author and curator (together with Julia Staniszewska) of the Witryna gallery project at 4 Konstytucji Sq. in Warsaw. Curator of the Polish edition of the TEMPS D’IMAGES festival at CSW Ujazdowski Castle for the last five years. Co-ordinator of interdisciplinary projects and festivals, e.g. Nova Polska 70-80 at Maison Folie de Moulins in Lille, part of the Polish Season in France and Lille 2004 European Capital of Culture. Involved in production of works of art (Tree of Knowledge by Oskar Dawicki for Manifesta 7 in Rovereto, and his Every mistake has hidden meaning in Folkwang Museum in Essen, Herostrates by Twożywo Group in public space in Warsaw), installations, performances and spectacles (Death of the Squirrel-Man, Marcin Libera). Works independently with artists and various institutions in Poland and abroad.
